Financial Aid

Financial Aid – Income-scaled Tuition (IST)
Gann Academy—The New Jewish High School of Greater Boston strives to provide a challenging, nurturing, and inspiring day school education that integrates intensive Jewish studies with sciences and humanities to a broad and diverse community. The school is committed to providing financial assistance to qualified families who meet the application and financial aid deadlines and information requirements, based on individual need and the availability of funds.

Financial aid awards granted in a given year do not guarantee that aid will be forthcoming in future years.  Applications shall be completed and reviewed each year and awards will be made on the basis of funds available and documented financial need.

Gann Academy admissions decisions are need-blind and are not influenced by a family’s financial situation. Gann Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin.

Financial Aid Application Packet
A financial aid application is included in all admissions application packets.  Completed financial aid applications for the 2008/2009 academic year are due on or before January 31, 2008. Provisional awards will be mailed March 10, 2008.

The school utilizes the services of School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS) and IRS Federal Income Tax Returns to assist the committee in the financial aid assessment process.  All families are required to complete a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) with their completed financial aid application.  PFS forms are included in the application packet and can also be completed online at https://sss.ets.org.

Federal Income Tax Return Information
The Gann Academy financial aid deadline is January 31, 2008.  The school understands that families may not be able to complete 2007 Federal Income Tax Returns by this date.  The school will accept 2006 Federal Income Tax Returns on or before January 31, 2008 to make a provisional financial aid award.  2007 Federal Income Tax Returns are due on or before April 1, 2008.  Awards will be reviewed upon receipt of the 2007 Federal Income Tax Returns.
