The Gann Parent Association (GPA) is pleased to announce the second annual Teacher Development Fund drive. In addition to offering families a way to recognize and thank faculty for an excellent year of teaching, mentoring, and advising, the fund provides financial resources to support professional development. Gann parents made last year’s launch of this fund a resounding success. Contributions by Gann families supported 25% of all professional development opportunities awarded to our teachers during the 2007-2008 school year. Teachers attended a broad range of programs including: workshops focused on the use of technology in teaching language; a course in coaching; a workshop on teaching ceramics; programs for beginning teachers; a training program for classroom observation and professional feedback; a program about peer counseling; and, graduate work in technology infrastructure management for academic institutions. Without questions, these programs support not only the professional development of our faculty, but also the educational experience of our children. After families make donations to the Fund, a contribution card(s) noting the donor’s name will be sent to the designated faculty member(s). Donors will receive an acknowledgement letter thanking them for their gift. Checks should be made out to Gann Academy Teacher Development Fund and mailed to the Office of Development. You may download a donation form here. Please contact Amy Imber, or Robin Jaeger, if you have questions. We hope you will consider this opportunity as a meaningful way to complete the school year and thank our teachers for all they do! Best wishes for a wonderful summer, Robin Jaeger, President | ||
