Congratulations on your retirement, Senora Morgan! What a pleasure it was to learn from you. One of my favorite teachers ever. Wishing you all the best, Talia Klein

Elena’s last trip to the MFA 2025, with French and Spanish 3 students. A time honored tradition that students always remember and juat one more thing that makes Elena such an incredible techer… her commitment to aharing her passions with her students in teaching cultual competencies and language.
Michelle Langwieder, Current Gann Faculty or Staff
I had the privilege of being in Elena’s Spanish class the first year that she taught at school. The three years in her class were very special. Elena’s care for each student and love for teaching have always been evident. It has been a great joy for Elena to be able to stay connected over the years since high school. Wishing only the best in your next steps of your journey.

A memory I have of Elena is how much she cared that her students not only understood and were able to speak Spanish, but understood the culture and loved the language as well. I remember how we took time as a class to really dive into the cultural and historical significance of the Picasso painting “Guernica” (all in Spanish of course) and how passionately Elena talked about the painting made me and other students in the class realize its significance as well, and made that lesson one that really stayed with me and one that I still think about. I also remember all the fun things we did as a class, like going on the field trip to the art museum, playing Blooket, and drinking mate. I don’t think I have ever had more fun in a class than I did in Elena’s Spanish class.

I had the honor of having Elena as my French teacher for 3 years. We were a class of 5 and it was very much an elective, so it was always low-key. We did art appreciation, cooked French food, and just spent a lot of time chatting about life in half French and half English. She clearly cares so much about each and every one of her students, and she’s such an an integral part of what makes Gann a special place. Congratulations on an incredible career!

I am so grateful for Elena for her passion and teaching – I still speak Spanish today, and continue to read and practice, inspired by her!

I’m happy for Elena. She has had such a full career and touched so many students’ lives!! And mine! I think I am a better, more thoughtful educator as a direct result of working with her.
Carolyn Siegel, former World Languages faculty
I loved working with Elena in the early 2000s. She is so friendly and a wonderful teacher. When I made the Gann schedule, Elena could be assigned any Spanish or French class, which was amazing.
