Solar Panel Ribbon Cutting This Week
The Gann Academy/New Jew community is invited to the ribbon cutting of our new solar project this Friday, April 13, from 9:50 to 10:10 am.
Gann Academy's electricity will soon be exclusively powered by renewable energy. Despite the snow, the roof of Gann's student activity center has been a hive of activity this winter with the installation of more than 800 solar panels. These will soon power 25% of Gann's energy needs, with the rest sourced from wind.
The initiative, launched and led by students and recent alumni, will be coming to fruition on April 13!
"We are really happy to leave our mark on our community in a way that has such a tangible impact," said Nate Orbach, one of the students who drove the sustainable energy agenda last year. "What makes Gann unique is how it empowers students to follow their passions and enact real change," explained Nate.
