Gann Juniors and Seniors Danced the Night Away at Prom
Gann's prom was the place to be on the evening of March 18. This year, the festivities were hosted at the Boathouse overlooking the Charles River.
Revelers ate, danced and schmoozed under the sparkly strings of lights. They mugged for the photo booth camera and many declared it the "best prom ever."
"This prom really blew me away," said senior Noah Krispin."The dance floor was constantly packed since the moment we arrived at The Boathouse. Everyone was very enthusiastic and energetic and we all danced together non-stop for hours! It made the night a blast!"
Not only was it the Seniors' last prom, but also the last prom for Head of School Rabbi Marc Baker. To honor Rabbi Baker, the students, in classic Jewish fashion, danced the hora and raised him above their heads in a chair. " While I know that Gann proms are always spirited and quite earnest, this was my first time doing the hora on the dance floor with the kids," said Rabbi Baker. " They took what can be a divisive, socially challenging, American teenage experience and infused it with community, inclusivity and soul. That’s what this school is all about."
