Gann Notches 3rd MBIL Victory
Gann made the short trip to Chapel Hill Wednesday afternoon to take on league rival CHCH and cruised to its 3rd MBIL victory.
Coming off a strong first week of game play, Gann took to the court for the first time this week in an MBIL league contest vs. the Chargers from Chapel Hill. The young Chargers played an up tempo, aggressive, full court pressing style with 5 man rotations just about every 2 minutes which took Gann several minutes into the first half to figure out. Once they did, Gann responded with a flurry late in the first half to push what was a single digit game to a near 30 point halftime lead. "We've seen that up tempo, multiple substitution--aggressive kind of play once years ago against Maimo" said Coach Nole, "...and Chapel Hill did a great job and making us turn the ball over and get outside of our game plan early on. But once our guys got a handle on it there wasn't much looking back." Gann was led in scoring by Matt Gluck with 15, Eli Cole and Yahm Rones with 12, and Jacob Starr continued his impressive play off the bench chipping in with 11. Gann immediately returns to action tomorrow night at Berwick Academy (Maine) in a game which undoubtedly will have strong NEPSAC tournament implications. "Despite the long ride to Berwick, if the bus accommodations are what we hope they might be we should be ready to roll tomorrow", added Coach Nole.
