Gann Win Streak Snapped
Ganns run of 4 victories (5 of last 6) came to an abrupt halt vs. Lexington Christian Academy Monday afternoon at Gann, losing 79-57.
With 14 games in the books and with only 3 nail biting losses, Gann took to the court to face a strong LCA squad that entering the game was undefeated in NEPSAC Class C action. Looking for a win to help aid their post season birth chances, Gann needed to put together a stellar performance to upset LCA--but found themselves putting together probably their weakest first half performance on the season, finding themselves down by 22 at intermission. "In the first half we lacked the energy we needed, we made way too many turnovers, and we were cold as ice shooting-- the perfect trifecta" said Coach Nole. Despite being down by 22 entering the 2nd half, Gann was able to find energy in the 2nd half thanks to the bench play of sophomore Eli Gross and a breakout performance by Dan Galper who finished with 8 points (two 3 pointers) and a highlight film breakaway drive down the lane. Playing with some renewed fire, Gann was able to play evenly with LCA throughout the second half. "We haven't had a down game like that all year," said Nole, "...so I guess we were due. But, we definitely walked away with some very positive things in the 2nd half and I'm glad our boys responded like they did after halftime." Once again the schedule has back to back to back games this week with Concord and BTA on the docket next.
