United Nations Speechwriter Addresses Students
Gann Academy was honored to have Sarah Cohen, Class of 2011, return to campus on Monday, April 15, to speak with students about her role as the Director of Speechwriting for the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations.
As the Director of Speechwriting for United Nations Ambassador Danny Danon and the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations, Sarah is responsible for all speeches delivered by Israel’s Permanent and Deputy Permanent Representatives, diplomats, and advisers to the United Nations General Assembly, Security Council, and committees. The subject matter of her speeches includes, but is not limited to, international politics, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, counterterrorism, human rights, women’s rights, weapons of mass destruction, economic development, and Jewish issues. Sarah is a close adviser to Ambassador Danon, working with him on content, copy editing, and delivery rehearsal.
Prior to this role, Sarah served on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Before that, she worked in the defense industry, conducting open-source intelligence and tactical and strategic competitive intelligence for Raytheon. Sarah is a graduate of Middlebury College ’15 where she studied Religion with a concentration in Islamic Studies and Arabic.
