Students Organize Walkout Urging Adults to Take Action on Gun Violence

In response to last month's school shooting in Parkland, Florida, students at Gann Academy have organized and are telling the world that they have had #Enough of gun violence—in the words of Ilana Jacobs '19, "stop talking and start doing stuff about it."

On March 15, 2018, one day after the one month anniversary of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School*, Gann students left their classrooms to demand adults take action.

Read more about the student-organized protest in the Waltham Tribune, watch a video of the student protest also reported in the Waltham Tribune, as well as an interview with Rabbi Baker in the Waltham Patch about Gann's philosophy of encouraging real-world student activism.

*The protest took place a day after it was scheduled due Gann Academy being closed on March 14, 2018, due to inclement weather.
