Michael J. Bohnen is the founding chair of Gann Academy. A self-described “day school junkie,” he was president of Solomon Schechter Day School (SSDS) of Greater Boston and national chair of Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education, which merged into Prizmah: the Center for Jewish Day Schools. An active leader in the Jewish community, Michael was also chair of Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) and the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), and served as national chair of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs.
Professionally, he has been president of the Adelson Family Foundation since 2007. Prior to that, he was a partner at the Boston law firm of Nutter, McClennen & Fish, where he is now of counsel. Michael was listed in Best Lawyers in America, Massachusetts Super Lawyers and Chambers USA. He is the co-author of a book about Massachusetts Corporate Law and taught at Boston University and Northeastern Law Schools.
Michael is a graduate of Providence Hebrew Day School, Harvard College, and Harvard Law School. He lives in Newton with his wife Joyce. They have great two daughters (both day school graduates), two wonderful sons-in-law and four amazing grandchildren (all in day schools).
