Scott Cohen*

Scott Cohen formerly served as president of the Gann Academy Board of Trustees and currently serves as chair of the Governance Committee.
 
Scott is a serial entrepreneur and investor in the media space. A veteran of both print and online media businesses, Scott was on the team that built, launched, and ran The Boston Globe’s Boston.com. He went on to start and sell three companies, invest in others, and is currently the co-founder of an information service based in Cambridge.
 
He is an active member of the Boston Jewish community, serving on the Jewish Learning and Engagement Commission at Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), and is the immediate past chair of CJP’s Day School Education Commission. Scott is a supporter, mentor, director and/or advisor to numerous organizations focused on Israel, including Our Generation Speaks at Brandeis University’s Heller School, MassChallenge-Israel, Achim L’Chaim (“Brothers For Life”), The Israel Project, AIPAC, and others. He also helped launch JNS, a global news syndication service that is successfully embedding objective coverage on Israel into mainstream media.
 
Scott lives in Needham with his wife Kathleen. They have two children at Gann Academy and one Gann graduate at Skidmore College.
