Meet the Gann Academy Leadership Team

Rabbi Marc Baker
Head of School

Rabbi Marc Baker has served as the Head of Gann Academy since June 2007. A native of Lynnfield, Massachusetts, Marc attended Phillips Academy Andover and received his B.A. in Religious Studies from Yale University. Marc then spent four years at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies In Jerusalem as the recipient of a Dorot Fellowship, a Fellow and as a pioneer of the Pardes Educators Program. He received his M.A. in Jewish Education from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his Rabbinic Ordination from Rabbi Danny Landes, Director and Rosh Yeshiva of Pardes. Marc has participated in the Day School Leadership Training Institute, a program of the William Davidson Graduate School of Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary and in “Improving Schools: The Art of Leadership from The Principals’ Center” at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 2011 he was one of five Jewish educators from across the country to receive The Pomegranate Prize from The Covenant Foundation which honors and nurtures exceptional, emerging professionals. Marc lives in Brookline, Massachusetts with his wife, Jill, and their four children, Elisha, Meital, Maor and Alanna.
Gail Schulman
Chief Operating Officer (COO)

As Chief Operating Officer, Gail is responsible for all of Gann’s business functions including Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Financial Aid, Facilities, Technology and Food Services. She also works across the school to implement major initiatives.  Prior to joining Gann in 2016, Gail spent more than 20 years managing complex businesses in the high tech sector, serving as CEO, COO, and head of strategy.  She has also consulted to numerous technology companies, focusing on strategy, operations, and business development. A passionate volunteer leader as well, Gail has served as the board chair of Kesher Newton, led committees focused on youth and education at Temple Reyim, and served as fundraising and recruitment chair at Teen Voices.  She is a graduate of Harvard University.  Gail lives in Newton with her husband and two children.
Jacob Pinnolis
Director of Teaching and Learning

Jacob Pinnolis is currently the Director of Teaching and Learning at Gann, overseeing the supervision and professional development of the faculty. The position, newly created in 2011, helps provide Gann the resources and direction for a robust program of observation and feedback, encouraging the strengthening of Gann’s culture of reflective teaching. A teacher in the Tanakh department at Gann for eight years, Jacob’s previous teaching positions were at the Solomon Schechter High School of New York and the University of Florida. He and his wife, Sarah, are parents of Ayelet and Noah.
Farrah Rubenstein
Director of Enrollment Management

Farrah joined Gann Academy in 2013. Farrah leads the school’s outreach, recruitment, and admissions efforts. Farrah most recently served as the Director of Leadership and Board Development at CJP and has over 15 years of experience in development, program design, and education in the Boston Jewish community. She is a graduate of Brandeis University and now lives in Natick with her husband and their two children.
Frank Tipton
Assistant Head of School

Frank Tipton joined Gann Academy in 2015. He has 16 years of teaching and administrative experience in secondary schools, most recently at Phillips Academy Andover as Dean of West Quad North and Instructor of History and the Social Sciences. Frank has also served as a college counselor, a house counselor, and an academic advisor.  Frank is a graduate of Columbia and Georgetown Universities. He currently lives in Lexington with his husband, Jonathan Krasner, his daughter Ariel, and his son Gideon.
Jennifer Weinstock
Director of Development

Jennifer Weinstock joined Gann Academy in 2013 and served as Senior Development Officer until June 2015. She is now Director of Development. She has been applying her expertise as a development professional for more than 20 years with an emphasis on relationship-building strategies between donors and organizations. She is currently in the first cohort of the Wexner Field Fellowship. Before coming to Gann, Jennifer was Strategy Manager for Growing Annual Fund Revenue at the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education for six years. She also spent more than a decade at WGBH, Boston’s public broadcasting station, as the senior Major Gifts officer, Director of Stewardship and Director of the Major Gifts Annual Fund. Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and currently lives in Brookline with her husband, Amiel, and three sons who all attend Jewish day school and Jewish camp.
