  • Gann Wins Four Spring Sport Championships

    This was an amazing spring for Gann athletics as four of the seven varsity teams earned first-place finishes.   Athletics Director Pam Roecker invites you to join her in congratulating these team for earning titles in their respective sports this spring 2016:
    Baseball: MBIL Champions (1st title since 2010, they also won in 2009);
    Softball: IGC (Co-Champions)  (2nd consecutive co-championship);
    Co-Ed Ultimate: MBIL Champions (1st title for the Red Heifers since 2012, they also won in 2009); and
    Boys Tennis: MBIL Champions (7th title in program history: ’09, ’10, ’11, ’12, ’13, and '14 )  
    Over the summer we look forward to adding all of these titles to the banner in the gym! Go GANN! 
  • Jared Finn Named MBIL Baseball MVP

    Jared Finn, Gann's senior captain and starting shortstop, was selected as the 2016 MBIL Most Valuable Player by a vote of all conference baseball head coaches. Finn led Gann in stolen bases and triples, while batting .542 for the season.  He helped lead Gann to the 2016 MBIL title, the teams first since 2010.   Congratulations to Jared on an outstanding senior year and career!
  • Sara Jaye Named IGC Tennis MVP

    In addition to being recognized as a IGC-All Star, Senior team co-captain Sara Jaye was selected as the 2016 Most Valuable Player by a vote of all conference head coaches.  Sara played #1 or #2 for Gann all season, and she has specialized in singles play over her 4-year career.  Congratulations to Sara for a great season and Gann career!

  • Spring Sport All-Stars Announced

    Congratulations to the following Gann student-athletes for being recognized as league all-stars based on their performance this spring.  These awards were announced at Gann at team closing ceremonies.

  • Baseball Wins MBIL Championship

    Gann Baseball completed an outstanding season by defeating the #1 seeded and defending champion Brimmer and May squad by a score of 5-2 at Babson College on May 19.   The #2 seeded Red Heifers were led by freshman pitcher Yahm Rones who went the distance, striking out 10 in a dominating performance.  Seniors Jared Finn, Josh Hurwitz, Tyler Gilman and sophomore Ori Applbaum all had big hits to pace the offense while freshman catcher Matt Gluck and freshman second baseman Alex Ring made critical defensive plays to prevent Brimmer from rallying.  The 2016 MBIL title is the first for Gann since the 2010 season.   Gann finished with an overall record of 8-2 under second-year head coach Steve Price.  Congratulations to all the players for their performance and sportsmanship throughout the season.
  • Ben Edry Named Globe & Herald Basketball All-Scholastic

    Gann athletics is proud to announce that junior Ben Edry has been name to the All-Scholastic Boys Basketball Team, sponsored by the Boston Globe and Boston Herald. The Globe featured Ben's profile among the All Scholastic Preps on April 3, 2016 and the Herald profiled him on April 13. Both papers noted his 19.6 point-per-game scoring and 4.3 assist-per-game average. Ben was also the 2016 Co-MVP of the MBIL and a MBIL All-Star.  He has tallied 535 career points for the Red Heifers.  Congratulations, Ben!
  • Gann Hosting MBIL Boys' Basketball Championship

    Gann Varsity Boys' Basketball advanced to the MBIL Championship game after posting an impressive 56-29 semi-final victory over CSW on Wednesday, February 10.  The championship game will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Gann will play CCA in a 4:30 pm tipoff.  Gann earned the right to host the title game after earning the #1 seed heading into the playoffs.  The Red Heifers are currently 12-7 overall, and this is the first time in program history that the team has earned #1 seed.
  • Girls Basketball Wins IGC Championship

    Gann girls varsity basketball upset the two-time defending champions and #1 seeded Montrose squad 52-44 on February 11th win the IGC title.  This victory was as a result of a total team effort in which the Red Heifers led the game virtually from the start to finish.  The 2015-16 championship is the first for Gann since the girls since 2008.  Congratulations to all 11 team members, including the three senior captains, Veronica Leifer, Tali Anisfeld and Sydney Goldman, and to first-year head coach Jason Luisi and assistant Tali Silverman.
  • Spring Sports Off To Successful Start

    Gann's eight spring interscholastic teams have had impressive started to each of their respective seasons. Five squads are undefeated heading into the Passover break. Co-Ed Ultimate is 5-0, Girls' Varsity Lacrosse is 4-0, Varsity Baseball is 3-0, Girls' JV Lacrosse is 3-0 and Boys' Varsity Lacrosse is 1-0, after posting a season opening 11-6 win over Brimmer and May. Girls' Tennis is 1-1 and Softball is 1-2.  Boys Tennis is 2-3, but is coming off an incredible win over Pingree in a very competitive match on April 19. The Boys' Tennis win was the first over a talented Pingree team in the last eight seasons.  Gann athletics returns to action the week of May 2.
  • Varsity Girls' Basketball in IGC Title Game

    Gann Girls' Varsity Basketball, under first-year head coach Jason Luisi, has advanced to the IGC championship game at Montrose on February 11, 2016.  The #2 seeded Red Heifers advanced to the title game by defeating Landmark 47-19 on their homecourt on February 10. Gann travels to #1 seeded, defending IGC champion, Montrose, for the finals at 4:30 pm on February 11, 2016.
  • Girls' JV Basketball Posts 9-5 Record

    Congratulations to all 12 JV Girls' Basketball team members and first-year head coach Erica Kovach on a very successful 2015-16 season.  The season ended with a four game winning streak, and the girls showed great progress and tenacity, especially on the defensive end. The overall 9-5 record was a result of the daily hardwork, dedication, enthusiasm and coachability that all the team members demonstrated. All of the girls are excited about next season and have expressed individual goals for 2016-17. Congratulations to all!
  • Boys' 3rds Basketball Finishes Strong

    The Gann Boys 3rds Basketball team finished with a 6-3 record under first-year head coach Brad Ballinger. The roster of 15 boys from the freshman and sophomore classes showed incredible comradarie, sportsmanship, competitiveness and passion for the game throughout the season. This was a very talented group that will see a number of the boys competing for positions on the JV and Varsity programs over the next several years.  Congratulations to the entire team and thank you for a great season!
  • Basketball Teams Off to Fast Start

    All five Gann basketball teams are off to successful starts in their respective 2015-16 seasons.  Heading into winter break, Boys' Varsity is riding a four game winning streak, posting an overall 4-1 record.  Boys' Varsity B has used it's outstanding depth to start off  3-1 and Boys' 3rds has shown consistent improvement ending 2015 with a 1-2 overall record.  Girls' Varsity has battled through some early injuries to 2-2 heading into break, and Girls' JV is off to a fast 3-1 start.  The teams return to action the week of January 4th.
  • Boys Basketball Alumni Game Huge Success

    We had outstanding attendance for the alumni game played on Sunday, December 20th as graduates, families and Gann staff members celebrated the programs great tradition.  The matchup of alumni vs. Gann's current boys varsity squad was a closely contested contest with the alums ultimately pervailing.  Basketball alums in attendance included:  Harris Wallack ’14,  Josh Hoffman Seen  ‘09, Daniel Geiserg  ’15, Daniel Mael  ‘11, Eilon Applbaum  ’15, Jonny Zackman ’15, Matthew Zackman ’13, Adam Korbman ’15, Zach Weiss  ’14, Ben Bryer  ’15, Sam Kann  ’13, Josh Joress  ’15, Adam Fine  ’14 Josh Lange ’15, Jordan Cohen ’12,  Elie Lehmann ’13,  Kevin Baker ’10.  Girls basketball was represented by Gann 2009 Ali Haber ’09.  The event was followed by a brunch sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations.  We are already looking forward to seeing you in 2016!
  • Boys' Soccer Advances to MBIL Playoffs

    Boys' Soccer capped an impressive regular season campaign by advancing to the MBIL Semi-Finals after not qualifying for post-season play in Fall 2014. The boys, under Head Coach Luis Ramirez, finished with a 7-5-3 record, improving their number of conference wins from 1 total in Fall 2014 to 5 conference wins this year!
  • Cross Country Finishes Second in MBIL Championship

    After losing 12 seniors from the Fall 2014 squad, some would have assumed this would be a rebuilding year. Amazingly, however, Cross Country finished 2nd overall in the MBIL Championship hosted at Gann on  November 4, 2015.  MBIL Championship medals were awarded to Gann standouts  Zoe Gompers, Ronit Kempler, and Hillel Maroun,  respectively the #1 female, #2 female, and #3 male finishers in a field that had approximately 110 runners. Special recognition also goes to  Noam Ganz, the #4 overall finisher. Additionally, Hillel Maroun and Noam Ganz were recognized as MBIL All-League because of their top 10 finishes.
  • Gann Wins Inaugural 2015 IGC Volleyball Invitational

    The Gann Volleyball team defeated Chapel Hill 3-0 on November 5, 2015 in the championship game of the IGC Invitational.  Both squads showed outstanding hustle and determination in front of a packed house of enthusiastic fans, but the Red Heifers ultimately prevailed. Landmark defeated the Marie Phillips School in the consolation game.
  • Girls' Volleyball Makes History with NEPSAC Tourney Bid

    Gann's record-setting Girls' Volleyball season ended as the Red Heifers were defeated in quarter-final action by two-time NEPSAC Tournament defending champion Cheshire Academy (CT) on November 18, 2015. The Gann community should be very proud of the scrappy effort the team exhibited against an experienced squad in a packed gymnasium.  The Cheshire Academy game scores were 25-13, 25-13 and 25-9.  The girls finish the season with a 10-4 record, the IGC Invitational title and the first NEPSAC appearance in school history.  Congratulations to our coaching staff and team members!
  • JV Boys Basketball End with 10-game Win Streak

    Gann JV Boys Basketball completed an impressive 2015-16 campaign with a 10-1 overall record.  After losing their season-opener the Red Heifers won their next 10 games in impressive fashion.  The 14 boys on the team all showed great committment, teamwork, passion and improvement over the course of the season under first-year JV head coach Jim Nole.  The team was comprised on freshman-juniors and the future is bright for Gann basketball with the young talent in the program.  Congratulations to all members on the team for a very successful year!

Director of Athletics, Pam Roecker

Pam Roecker came to Gann in 2015. She served as Emmanuel College’s Director of Athletics and Recreation since 2003, directly overseeing the Saints' athletic department and 35 staff members. The Emmanuel Athletic Department experienced tremendous growth during Roecker's tenure, growing by three varsity sports, including the additions of men's golf (2009), women's lacrosse (2011), and men's lacrosse (2012). In addition to directing the expansion of the Saints' athletic department, Roecker was also actively involved in the Roberto Clemente Field project, completed in August of 2009.

Prior to Emmanuel, Roecker served as Associate Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator and NCAA Compliance Coordinator at Wagner College in Staten Island, New York.

Roecker also has extensive experience coaching Division I women's basketball, holding head coaching positions at Loyola University Chicago (1998-99) and at Wagner College, and assistant coaching positions at Seton Hall University, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She has been inducted into both the Hall of Fame at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (1995) and the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society at Wagner College.

She earned a bachelor's degree in Communications and Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a master's degree in Business Administration and Management from Wagner College.

Assistant AD/Athletic Trainer, AJ Rourke

Andrea "AJ" Rourke came to Gann in 2007 as the Head Athletic Trainer and quickly added Assistant Athletic Director responsibilities. After graduating from Marietta College in 1993 with a BS in Sports Medicine and a NATA Certification, Rourke enjoyed athletic training posts with Auburn High School, Grafton High School, the Orleans Cardinals and Chatham Athletics of the acclaimed Cape Cod Baseball League, and a ten-year stint at UMASS-Boston as Athletic Trainer.
