Dancing the Night Away at the Junior-Senior Prom
May 5, 2017
With almost every Gann junior and senior attending, prom was the place to be on the evening of April 2.
Revelers ate, danced and schmoozed under the sparkly strings of lights and among the vintage cars at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum. They mugged for the photo booth camera and many declared it the “best prom ever.” "Prom was a fun night hanging out with friends," said junior Rachel Silverstein. "I also loved the photo booth because you got to take something home with you. My pictures are hanging all over my wall in my room. It was awesome!”
Junior Noah Krispin pointed to one important thing that makes Gann prom unique: "At public school, prom and semi are separate, but because we have a small community, we combine them and we have a great time because everyone hangs out together."
Senior Talia Schnur, one of the prom co-heads, said the planning committee had a great time putting together an event that was such a success. “I think people are going to remember this prom for a really long time,” she said.
"Our kids are scholars, leaders and activists—but they are also good dancers. They really know how to have fun," said Dean of Students Cindy Jacobs. "It was great to watch them enjoy each other's company so much."
