Manager of Experiential Education Programs (10 month)

Gann Academy seeks a full-time Manager of Experiential Education Programs to plan, coordinate, and execute Gann’s signature programs. The successful candidate will have a desire to work in a collaborative mission-driven environment, surrounded by high school students and teachers. She or he will be a seasoned educator and program manager who attends to detail, confidently assumes responsibility for implementation of marquee programming, and works effectively with students, parents, faculty, and educational partners. The Program Manager will report to the Assistant Head of School.
Experiential programs that this position manages includes a seven-week partnership w/an Israeli educational agency to bring 10th graders to Israel; a one-week homestay and educational program for Israeli teens in Boston; a diverse set of week-long local and domestic travel programs for students; and a month-long program in the late spring in which seniors pursue individualized experiential programs under the supervision of faculty coaches and leadership.

The position entails approximately two to three weeks’ travel time in Israel each year associated with planning the myIsrael and Mifgash programs. The position also involves occasional “as needed’ responsibilities for the educational program at Gann, such as advising a club and lending a hand with planning for small-scale student travel (Model UN conferences, etc.).
For each program, the program manager is responsible for collaborating closely with faculty and administrators who oversee, set annual strategies and objectives, and evaluate each program. She or he manages a project management schedule, timeline, communications, and budget for each program; acts as parent point person for all programs (w/support from an administrative assistant); cultivates and maintains relevant external partnerships; upholds professional standards and best practices with respect to risk management and crisis management; and acts as communications point-person and “crisis on call” professional when Gann groups are traveling off campus.

Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience in educational program management and with working directly with adolescents in an educational environment.
  • High organizational and management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products and quick ability to learn in-house software.
