  • Gann Bounces Right Back with key NEPSAC victory over Bradford

Less than 24 hours after a frustrating loss at Worcester Academy, Gann had little time to shake off those bad feelings and be ready to take on yet another difficult NEPSAC opponent in Bradford Christian Academy. As it turned out, the task become yet even more difficult with a Bradford lineup that included perhaps two of the more individually talented players Gann had faced all year. Bradford, led by its two key players dominating on the offensive end, jumped out to an early lead in the first half leaving Gann once again looking up at a scoreboard showing a double digit deficit. But, yet once again, Gann found a way to battle back and by halftime had tied the score at 38. As has been the case several times this year, Gann made some defensive adjustments at halftime, this time switching to a man-to-man defense to open the 2nd half. "I had some trepidation about going to a man defense," said Coach Nole, "as I was not sure we would be able to stay with those two very talented Bradford players." The move proved to be the right one, led by the individual defensive of Dan Metser and Yahm Rones. Both Metser and Rones took control of the two scorers and changed the entire complexion of the game, with Gann grinding its way to a 4 point lead early in the second stanza eventually pushing the lead up to 10 with only 3 minutes to go. Gann put 6 players in double digits including Jacob Starr with a career high 20 off the bench, Yahm Rones with 15, Isaac Altman-Sagan with 13, Eli Cole with 11, and Matt Gluck and Dan Metser both with 10. Gann concludes the 4 games in 4 days stretch against Bancroft tomorrow at 5:30 at Gann.
