  • Gann loses to Covenant Christian in the finals

    It was quite an accomplishment to get to the finals this year.  Gann fought valiantly but could not hold off a fast, aggressive and skilled CCA team.  Despite being battered in the goal, 9th grader Sonia Marks had a terrific game in the net.  Midfielders Lily Cantor, Leah Gann, Yakira Galler and Sarah Skolnick ran tirelessly to help defend and help attack.  The entire team never gave up until the last whistle.  It was an effort that all should be proud of.  The last game of the season is against rival Maimo at at home on the turf Tuesday.

  • Gann plays in finals tomorrow!

    Gann came out strong against BTA. Senior captain, Rachael Frisch, scored in the first quarter with a blast from the 40 yard line. Kira Epstein sealed the deal with a second goal with about 5 minutes remaining in the game. Gann played as a cohesive unit. Everyone on the team contributed to the win. Finals tomorrow. GO Gann!

  • Gann loses to CCA

    CCA came out fast and strong, Gann did not. CCA scored 2 quick goals. Gann settled in to the pace of the game, got organized and played well for three quarters of the game. Sonia Marks had an outstanding game in goal. Defenders Deena Karger, Rachael Frisch, Talya Lerner, Leah Gann and Yakira Galler, were tough and tenacious.

  • Gann notches second win against Newman

    Gann controlled the game from the first whistle.  The team was able to effectively execute some of the strategies we have been working on in practice.  Lizzi Schnur, Leah Gann, Becky Geisberg and Ilana Jacobs played very well in the midfield, applying immediate pressure and creating opportunities for the attack.  Kira Epstein was a constant threat in the attacking third, finding the back of the net twice.

  • Gann perseveres in torrential rain.

    Gann played the best game of their season.  Despite horrendous conditions, the players were focused, determined and played well together.  The defense stepped quickly to the ball, communicating well, the midfield played beautiful balls into the attacking third and the strikers were fast and tenacious.  Saige Anapolle found the back of the net twice and Lily Cantor once.

  • Gann dominates Newman

    Gann dominated Newman from the first kick off.  Kira Epstein scored twice.  Julia Clardy, Lily Cantor, Sarah Skolnick and Ilana Jacobs each scored once.  In the second half Gann was more composed, moving the ball well and finding the through pass for our speedy strikers to run onto.  Our next home game is on Thursday against CSW.

    Gann played tough against a very physical and fast Landmark team.  Defenders Deena Karger, Rachael Frisch, and Talya Lerner, were organized, focused and strong in the back.  Keeper Sonia Marks was outstanding in net.
    Leah Gann and Lily Cantor worked tirelessly to hold off a very strong landmark midfield.  Becky Geisberg played very well from the outside midfield position.

  • Gann loses opener against BTA

    9th graders, Yakira Galler, Lily Cantor, and Sonia Marks, all contributed in their first varsity game at Gann. BTA came out strong and scored 2 goals in the first half. The second half was scoreless. Gann had some scoring opportunities but were unable to find the back of the net. Deena Karger, along with fellow seniors Talya Lerner and Rachael Frisch, played well on the back line. The team showed great promise in their first game of the season.
