The Gann Academy Girls JV soccer team hosted Boston Trinity Academy for their first official game of the season. Despite having no substitutions, the team came together and played a clean, tactical, fast-paced game and ended up victorious.
While the first half was scoreless, the Gann girls dominated the field, and they were able to put numerous shots on goal. In the second half the game opened up, and three different Gann players added to the scoreboard: ninth grader, Maris Brail ’22 found the back of the net two times and Sylvia Katz ‘21 and Zuzzie Savitz ’20 each added a goal.
While Boston Trinity Academy had a number of breakaway attempts, the Gann midfield and defense held strong and they were able to stop BTA from getting close to goal. A number of beautiful saves by goalie Sydney Raby ’22 also helped to hold BTA scoreless.
The Gann girls showed tremendous effort and skill and certainly opened up the season on a high note.
