Within Reach

The unique Within Reach program provides straightforward, predictable, and meaningful financial support for families across the economic spectrum. Families can quickly predict tuition costs, which are scaled to family income. This program is designed for families who have Adjusted Gross Incomes (AGI) between $150,000 and $600,000 and net assets under $500,000 (excluding primary residence, qualified retirement accounts, and 529 plans), and who pay less than $20,000 in property taxes.
Tuition for Within Reach is based on a specific percent of family income, dependent on the number of students in Jewish day school(s), therapeutic or special education school(s), and undergraduate college(s).
For example, a family with AGI of $325,000 and four children – one in college, one incoming to Gann, one at K-8 Jewish Day School, and one at public elementary – would have 3 qualifying students and therefore would pay 17% of their AGI in estimated total tuition. The family would be asked to pay 5.7% (17%/3 qualifying students) or $18,417 in tuition to Gann Academy for their incoming student.

The number of qualifying students includes all students in the family who attend either Jewish day school(s), therapeutic or special education school(s), or undergraduate collegiate program(s), not just those attending Gann Academy. We invite you to utilize our tuition calculator below to estimate your family’s tuition obligation.

This income scale applies during the student's entire career at Gann, with tuition re-set annually based only on family income and number of qualifying students, without regard to Gann's maximum tuition levels. Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) is determined via tax returns for the year immediately preceding the school year.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 2 frequently asked questions.

  • Q: How can we apply to the program?

The Within Reach application is quite simple, and it requires less information than in traditional financial aid programs. Fill out the one-page application and return it, along with a copy of your most recent tax returns, to Gann Academy. The application process is completely confidential and does not impact admissions decisions.
  • Q: What if we need more financial aid than Within Reach would give us?

You are welcome to apply for traditional financial aid as well. Gann Academy will consider all affordability programs which may apply to a student and will choose the program that provides the greatest amount of financial assistance. Last year, Gann Academy awarded more than $4.6 million in financial aid to our students.
