Alex Somers Lahr joined Gann Academy in 2012 after 11 years in public education. She serves as our Assistant Director of academic-operations and also teaches two math classes. In her role, she serves as the Math Placement Coordinator, the Mentor Group Coordinator, and the Faculty Rounds Coordinator. She assists with the Women in STEM club and has formerly run Women’s Minyan during Zman Kodesh. Alex earned her undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Wellesley College and her Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She previously served as a Math Coach and the Math Lead Faculty at Chelsea High School and as a math Faculty at Columbia High School in New Jersey.
