Transportation

Students come to Gann from more than 35 communities across the Greater Boston area and some neighboring states. Gann offers easy drop-off and ample free parking, along with regional bus routes and ride-share reimbursement programs to support transportation from a variety of locations.

Bus Routes:
  • South Area and Metro West Bus transports students from Sharon, Needham, and the Hersey and Waltham train stations.

  • Newton/Brookline Area Bus transports students from Newton, Brookline, Belmont, and the Waverley train stations. A stop in Kenmore Square may be added depending on family interest.

  • West Roxbury/Newton/Waban Area Bus transports students from West Roxbury, Newton and Waban communities. Stops in Roslindale and Jamaica Plain may be added depending on family interest.

  • Metro West Area Bus transports students from Framingham, Natick, Wayland, and the Auburndale Station.

Ride Share Subsidies:
  • Metro North Area New this year, cab and ride-share reimbursements of up to $2,500 per year will be available to families coming from Arlington, Cambridge, Somerville, Lexington, Belmont, Watertown, Waltham, and Medford. This program is made possible thanks to the generous support of Combined Jewish Philanthropies. Subsidies will be available to new students in the 2019-2020 admissions season and will be guaranteed over the students' time at Gann.

  • North Shore Area Families have arranged a shared taxi service from the Swampscott/Marblehead/Salem area which is partially reimbursed by generous donor support. Please let us know if you would be interested in learning more. 

Directions to Gann Academy

From the Mass Turnpike and the South
Take Route 128/I-95 North to Exit 28A (“Trapelo Road”). Take Trapelo Road east toward Belmont. Continue 2.3 miles on Trapelo Road to Forest Street on the right. (If you pass the National Archives, you’ve gone about a quarter of a mile too far.) Turn right onto Forest Street. The site is 0.4 miles on the left.

From the North
Take Route 128/I-95 South to Exit 28 (“Trapelo Road”). Take Trapelo Road east toward Belmont. Continue 2.3 miles on Trapelo Road to Forest Street on the right. From the Cambridge/Somerville Area
From Alewife Station, take Route 2 West to Exit 59 (“Route 60”). At the end of the ramp turn left—toward Belmont—onto Route 60/Pleasant Street. Follow Route 60 through Belmont. After passing the Star Market on the left, bear right onto Trapelo Road. Continue 1.6 miles on Trapelo Road to Forest Street. (Forest Street is the third street on the left after the National Archives.) Turn left onto Forest Street. The site is 0.4 miles on the left.
Gann Academy is just 12 miles from downtown Boston, conveniently located near Route 128 and Trapelo Road in Waltham, MA.
