Valerie Giebel

Valerie Giebel joined Gann Academy after relocating from Raleigh, NC where she was teaching Advanced Geometry at Ravenscroft, a Prek-12 Independent Day School. She teaches Math, serves as the faculty advisor for the Girls Who Code and Women in STEM clubs, and takes an active role in welcoming and onboarding new faculty as the co-leader of the New Faculty Group. Valerie earned her Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Adolescence Education in Mathematics from SUNY Corland, and her Master’s in Mathematics Education (MSEd) from SUNY Brockport. She actively participates in ongoing professional development to maintain her teaching license in North Carolina and Massachusetts. Valerie previously taught a wide range of mathematic courses in public, charter, and private schools in Michigan and North Carolina. At Gann, she has taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Advanced Geometry, Precalculus, and Advanced Precalculus AB. She also was a part of the development team for the STEM Foundations course.
