Admissions Open House

Gann Academy invites prospective families to discover a school where students are known, challenged, cultivate their passions and love high school. As the only pluralistic Jewish high school in New England, Gann offers a rigorous, inquiry-driven academic program alongside a deep and authentic connection to Jewish life and learning, an experience open to students from every Jewish background.
Even if a Jewish high school wasn’t on your list, it’s worth seeing for yourself: about half of Gann’s students are attending Jewish day school for the first time, and they excel at Gann and feel a deep sense of belonging. Students who have attended Jewish day school since kindergarten find something new too: challenge, inspiration, and a bigger world, all with personalized attention.
Who is the Open House for?
- 8th graders exploring Gann Academy for 9th grade. We expect to enroll a class of 90 to 95 students for Fall 2027.
- 7th graders who have never attended Jewish day school, to explore Gesher2Gann, our innovative 8th grade bridge to high school program built on mastery-based, hands-on learning.
- Current 9th and 10th graders exploring a transfer.
You’ll have the chance to:
- Join us for sample classes in humanities, chemistry, Jewish studies, Israel education, athletics, and the visual and theater arts, a firsthand look at Gann’s hands-on curriculum, built to engage students through debate, discussion, and grappling with big questions.
- Tour our campus with a Gann Student Ambassador tour guide.
- Meet current parents, faculty, and school leadership, so parents can feel that sense of community and belonging too.
- Attend panels on Gann’s academic program and on Jewish life and learning.
- For 7th grade families: learn about Gesher2Gann, a program designed specifically for students who have never attended Jewish day school, built as a bridge into high school at Gann.
- Explore advanced pathways in mathematics as well as college-level and AP coursework for students ready to move at a more accelerated pace.
- Hear about the Learning Center and academic supports tailored to a wide range of learners.
- Talk with our college counseling office about our program and exceptional outcomes.
- Learn about Gann’s four financial aid programs, 60% of Gann families receive aid, part of the school’s commitment to making a Gann education accessible to every Jewish family.
- Explore transportation options serving families from across Greater Boston, including the North Shore, South Shore, and MetroWest, as well as closer communities like Beacon Hill, Back Bay, the South End, Brookline, Newton, and Needham, and Cambridge and Somerville.

Sharon and South Shore Information Session

Families from Sharon, the South Shore, and the Camps Eisner and Crane Lake communities are invited to discover a high school where exceptional academics, meaningful Jewish life, and a genuine sense of belonging come together.
At Gann, with roughly 340 students across four grades, students are known personally by their teachers, coaches, and advisors. Small classes allow for real relationships, individualized attention, and an academic experience built around discussion, debate, inquiry, and grappling with big questions.Â

Gann’s academic program includes advanced pathways in mathematics, AP and college-level coursework, and a learning center that supports a wide range of learners. Beyond the classroom, students pursue their interests and take on leadership roles across more than 60 clubs, competitive athletics, and outstanding visual and performing arts, all within a warm, pluralistic Jewish community with a meaningful connection to Israel.Â

Students come to Gann from public, independent, and Jewish day schools. Nearly half have never attended Jewish day school before, and no prior knowledge of Hebrew is required. Wherever they begin, students are welcomed into a community that meets them where they are and helps them grow.Â

Independent Schools Information Session

Gann Academy invites families at independent schools to learn more about our rigorous, inquiry-driven academic program, grounded in Jewish values.
At Gann, students pursue a demanding academic program that includes advanced pathways in mathematics, allowing each student to move at the pace that is right for them, alongside AP and college-level coursework. Classes are hands-on and built around debate and big questions. Beyond the classroom, students take on leadership roles across more than 60 clubs, including championship DECA and Mock Trial teams, alongside competitive athletics and outstanding visual and performing arts. This experience culminates in outcomes at the nation’s most selective colleges and universities.

Nearly half of Gann’s students arrive without a background in Jewish day school and find at Gann a genuine sense of belonging within a pluralistic community with a meaningful connection to Israel.

Advanced Pathways Information Session
October 6, 2026 | 7 PM · Newton, MA
Gann Academy invites families of academically advanced students to learn more about our advanced pathways. Whether a student arrives at Gann having completed 9th grade geometry and wants to dive directly into Algebra II, or arrives having already finished Calculus BC, Gann's advanced pathways in mathematics adapt accordingly.
This same philosophy extends across the curriculum, with college-level and AP coursework in computer science and robotics, the humanities, and the sciences — from AP Literature and AP U.S. History to Advanced Geopolitics of the Middle East — challenging Gann’s most advanced students throughout their four years.

Traditionally Observant and Modern Orthodox Information Session
October 13, 2026 | 7 PM · Brookline, MA
Gann Academy welcomes traditionally observant families to an information session on Jewish learning and academic excellence. Our students engage in advanced Limudei Kodesh (sacred studies), including Talmud study and Jewish philosophy, with the same seriousness we bring to math, science, and the humanities.
Our Israel education has intellectual depth, and it strengthens our students’ love of and commitment to Israel as a Jewish democratic state.

Gann is fully kosher, and students can choose from multiple minyanim, including a mechitza minyan. Jewish joy runs through the calendar year, with chagim celebrated as a full community and shabbatonim that bring students together for immersive Shabbat experiences. Join members of our Jewish life and learning leadership, along with a panel of students for a conversation on what it looks like to live a shomer Shabbat life within a school built for Jews across the observance spectrum.

Academic rigor, competitive athletics, a strong arts program, and outcomes at leading universities round out the picture. Our graduates also know how to learn a page of Gemara.

Public School Information Session

Gann Academy invites families from public schools to discover a school where every student is known. Nearly half of Gann's students have never attended a Jewish day school before, and find a genuine sense of belonging within a pluralistic community with a meaningful connection to Israel. No prior knowledge of Hebrew is required.

Academic Support and the Learning Center Information Session

Families are invited to learn how Gann Academy supports every student to succeed. Our Learning Center is designed for students who benefit from individualized attention, executive function coaching, or subject-specific strategies, as well as for high-achieving students who want to push their learning even further.
At this information session, you’ll meet Kate Yohay, the Director of the Learning Center, along with current parents and students who will share how personalized support — whether in math, writing, organization, or beyond — helps students build skills, confidence, and independence. You’ll also hear how our approach integrates seamlessly into Gann’s rigorous academic program, ensuring that students grow as learners and are prepared for college and beyond.

Israeli Affinity Families Information Session

Gann Academy invites Israeli families to learn about a Jewish high school that is committed to academic excellence and a strong connection to Israel.

Students also take on leadership roles across more than 60 clubs, competitive athletics, and outstanding visual and performing arts.
