Gesher2Gann

8th Grade Bridge to High School

2026–2027 School Year

Gann Academy is exploring Gesher2Gann, an 8th Grade Bridge to High School for the 2026–2027 school year. This program is designed for a small group of students who are planning to continue at Gann for Grade 9.

Gesher2Gann is a bridge year created in response to a unique moment in the local Jewish day school landscape, including the closing of MetroWest Jewish Day School and the middle school at Epstein Hillel.

The purpose is to provide students with a thoughtful academic, social, and emotional on-ramp into high school at Gann.

Who This Is For

Current 7th graders in public or independent schools
Students who are not currently enrolled in a Jewish day school with an 8th grade
Families who are strongly considering Gann for Grades 9–12

Like the Gann Academy high school program, Gesher2Gann is a pluralistic program that welcomes Jewish families from all backgrounds and levels of observance. No prior Hebrew language experience is required.

Program Overview Students in Gesher2Gann would follow a full school-day schedule on Gann’s campus, with coursework and experiences intentionally designed to build high school readiness. The program is expected to include:

A yearlong specialized humanities course focused on reading, writing, critical thinking, and oral communication
Hands-on science emphasizing inquiry and scientific thinking
Physical education and wellness, with an emphasis on movement, teamwork, and overall well-being
Individualized mathematics, with the option for accelerated students to take high school-level math
Jewish learning, including Zman Kodesh (spiritual time), Hebrew, and experiential Jewish Studies connected to text, values, and practice
Students will also have access to the Gann high school athletics, visual and performing arts, and clubs.
Each student would receive individualized attention and goal-setting support to ensure a strong transition into Grade 9.
