Alumni Profile: Noah McNerney ’17

Returning to Gann this year as a faculty member, Noah McNerney came full circle. The school that nurtured his creativity as a student also helped shape the educator he would become.

A member of Gann’s Class of 2017, Noah immersed himself in choir, Red Curtain Drama Club, and school musicals, finding confidence and community through creative expression. “The arts were such an incredible outlet for me,” he says.

After graduating from Gann, Noah studied studio art at Brandeis University before beginning a career in education. He worked in youth and family programming at the JCC and later taught elementary visual art at a Boston-area charter school.

Today, Noah introduces students to digital design, visual storytelling, and creative technology. The opportunities available to students today look very different from those he experienced as a student. “I was blown away by how much the arts program has grown,” he says.

For Noah, teaching at Gann is about more than art. It’s an opportunity to give back to the Jewish community that helped shape him. At Gann, he says, “You’re part of the village.”

Welcome back, Noah!
