Shabbat Shalom!

Gann had an epic first week back at school, kicking off the school year with new friends, a senior retreat, and forever memories!

On Wednesday, we welcomed our largest student body ever—over 350 students!—for the first day of classes. To celebrate the morning, the Student Council passed out free lemonade and class-specific bracelets for students. Students showed off their class pride, from “Fearless Freshmen” to “Stylish Sophomores,” to “Jolly Juniors,” and “Seniors, Baby!” During lunch the festivities continued as all students received brand new Gann Academy hoodies, perfect for the chilly fall days ahead. GO GANN!

In the classrooms, collaborative learning is already in full swing, with the hallways filled with students working in small groups discussing reading materials and assignments. Out on the fields, tryouts for competitive sports teams are underway, and the athletes are eager to kick off their seasons.

To end the week, seniors are off on their Senior Retreat. The group left Thursday afternoon, after school, and spent the night at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires bonding as a community, participating in activities, and honoring the start of their senior year.

Students, share your favorite part of the week by tagging @GannAcademy in your posts on Instagram and Facebook!
